We are holding our Summer Social this year in Weymouth and Portland, this coming Saturday the 18th July.
We have put together a varied day of informative visits and tours and chances to socialise.

You are invited to join us, for the whole day, or some of it if you prefer, the agenda is:

• 10am Meet at Tumbledown Farm (DT4 9RP) for a tour of the farm and the work they do.
• Tumbledown Community Growspace is a beautiful 27-acre former farm owned by Weymouth Town Council. We are developing the land into a community asset by producing and selling local fruit and veg, supporting people with volunteering and learning opportunities, and protecting our local environment for the benefit of our community. • 12:30pm Go to the Beach for a picnic.
• Depending on the wind direction, the small Black Barge beach just below the castle, on the south side of Chesil harbour - easy access; there is a sauna here we could book or alternatively, Chesil beach, near the Chesil Chippy or Quiddles cafe (If it rains we can shelter at the cafe!).
• 3:00pm Visit an Open Greener Homes House on Portland.
• Visit Laura Baldwin and Etienne Stott at East Weare road, Fortuneswell. One of the Dorset Greener Homes with a terrace vegetable garden and a fabulous view. “I’m happy to provide tea / coffee and nibbles at my place. I’ll set up my table top model of our projects with the information like I did during greener homes. Eti and I are happy to talk / Q&A. enjoy the view and a tour of our kitchen garden living pantry. “

The trip is open to all members, their families, and is free. It’s a lovely opportunity to meet like-minded people in a social setting, and is our yearly social event for us and all of our members.
