As a non-profit voluntary organisation we depend on Donations and Grants to run our core operations and Projects.
Working on energy issues, including retrofit, renewables and energy efficiency
Through the Feeding Dorset Partnership, we hope to be able to build a better understanding of the scale and scope of this web of food projects, businesses, and networks that exist across Dorset and to identify any gaps in the webs as we move towards a more resilient, sustainable and affordable food future.
It may take a generation for it to be achieved but we can imagine a county wide network of connected, well-managed hedgerows, stretching across the entire county of Dorset, so that every community has an opportunity to get involved.
Land Use includes tackling soil erosion and degradation, tree protection, use of herbicides and pesticides, wildlife restoration networks/corridors and participating in Nature Partnership consultations.
We are very lucky to have some great projects here in Dorset working hard to repurpose, recycle and refashion clothing. A celebration of rural makers reclaiming our clothing culture from big industry.
Members of DorsetCAN have been instrumental in setting up and running a number of local river groups across Dorset.
Transport accounts for 16% of our Carbon Emissions, and the continued growth of private car ownership is clearly unsustainable. Working in collaboration with Dorset Transport Action Groups, we aim to promote efficient and affordable public transport for all.

Our monthly online meetings explore initiatives already up and running in Dorset, and work to develop similar methods to further reduce landfill throughout the county. Working as a Team, or Group, we can have more impact. We will see successful initiatives start to be implemented in further areas of Dorset.
Dorset CAN has projects already running that would welcome young people to get involved, but most importantly we would love to have a few voices representing the youth of Dorset who can help steer us with our projects and our future work.
