History

We live in a (late) 1800s semi-detached house, and have made the following changes since moving:

  • Installed 12 Solar Panels on Roof
  • Installed a Smart EV Charger (Solar Compatible)
    • We’ve had more than one EV, and currently have a Skoda Enyaq.
  • Installed 22kWh of Home Battery (In the Garage) (Solis and Pylontech)
  • Installed 40cm of Loft Insulation
  • Installed Cavity Wall Insulation (Except front aspect where we have installed internal insulation)
  • Installed 100mm thick underfloor insulation at the front of the house, and 12 tonne concrete heat block and underfloor heating at the rear of the property.
  • Installed ASHP (Air to Water) heating
    • Installed 350l Super hot water tank to provide 3 days of Hot Water
    • Replaced all other radiators to correctly size them to a 35 degree heating system
  • Installed an Energy Diverter to effectively syphon excess PV generation into the hot water tank avoiding the need to pay for any hot water 8 months a year.
  • Install an ASHP (Air to Air) heating and cooling
    • Installed Air Conditioning Units in all upstairs rooms
  • Switched to Heat Pump Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer
  • We have 1000 litres of water butt storage, connected to two roofs for garden watering
  • We grow some of our own salad type vegetables and small fruit, but more for a bit of fun than anything else.
