Bridport Food Matters’ Marquee

Food with purpose! Join the conversation on soil, sustainability, and the future of our food system in the Bridport Food Matters marquee.

As part of this year’s Bridport Food festival, BFM will be celebrating Bridport and Dorset’s new status as a Sustainable Food Places, joining a national network working to make healthy, sustainable food central to community life.

Inside our marquee, BFM will be hosting a full day of inspiring panel discussions, short films, and hands-on displays, all exploring the powerful links between healthy soil, a healthy planet, and healthy people.

• 11:00am – Why is soil key to adapting to climate change?, With Leila Scriven (Tamarisk Farm), Alex Montgomery (Generation Soil CIC), and Tim Williams (Earth Farmers)
• 12:30pm – What is the hidden cost of ultra processed food? With Dr Sue Beckers (Real Food Rebellion), Barbara Cossins (Love Local Trust Local), Helen Ross (The Well Life Lab), Claire King (The Nutrition Advisory Team)
• Short Films curated by Josef Davies Coates, West Dorset Commons:

1. • Climate Compost by Joya Berrow (featured at Somerset House)
2. • A documentary by Robert Golden on the Real Food Rebellion at St Mary’s Primary
3. • Agro-ecology films from the Landworkers Alliance

Plus interactive displays and info on:

• BFM’s Nourish community food hub
• Composting, and biochar demos
• Feeding Dorset - the county’s Sustainable Food Places partnership, led by Help & Kindness and Dorset Climate Action Network (DCAN), will be on hand to tell you more about what’s going on around Dorset, and how Bridport is working together as one of the beacons for a sustainable local food system.
