“The only way we can get anywhere near our global targets on carbon emissions and biodiversity is through positive tipping points.”
We’re all familiar with negative tipping points (like Permafrost loss, Arctic Icesheet melting, Rainforest degradation) that could trigger sudden and devastating climate change, sea level increase and biodiversity loss. Now Prof. Tim Lenton’s latest work on positive tipping points gives us practical hope and the chance to create more powerful and effective local campaigns.
Join us on 28th March for insights from Tim Lenton on his research into positive tipping points in areas like: agriculture, ecosystem regeneration, transport, politics and public opinion.
We’ll go into breakout rooms to discuss how Dorset Climate Action Network can apply this work to help slow down climate change, move to zero carbon and regenerate wildlife and agriculture locally. Finally, we’ll come back together to share our key points for future action.
Please join us for this fascinating evening – stronger together!

“These changes often start with small groups of people with a big idea”
Could he mean us?

- What are tipping points?
- How do they happen?
- What is social contagion?
- When and how can a small push create a big change?
- How can we apply tipping point science to achieve change in our communities?
